Hardback. no DJ as issued, copper padded leatherette covers with gold embossed titles inside a reddish-brown field. 456 pages of essays and recipes plus back sections for notes, guests, calorie counts, measure equivalents. Recipes tested by Ann Serrane.

This is one of the most sought-after vintage cookbooks from the '60s, and is competitively priced. (It is difficult to find even in its 1974 reprint edition by Grosset & Dunlap, which we also list). Very posh, and very much a time piece! Creamy pages (edges dyed light cranberry), beautiful design, marker ribbon, color photos by William Claxton and Tosh Matsumoto and duotone illustrations by Fritz Kredel throughout.

The text and recipes are a culinary travelogue of the Price's travels to top restaurants throughout Europe, the U.S. and Mexico. Included are such long-gone historic establishments as the late Fernand Point's Restaurant de la Pyramide outside Lyon (Madame Point slipped them a few recipes).
