Betty Crocker's Cookbook ("pie" cover, ring binder, VG+ )

by Betty Crocker's kitchen staff, Golden Press, terrific copy, ninth 1971 printing of the classic 1969 publication. An instant hit, the book was a landmark post-Joy of Cooking general cookbook with step-by-step b&w and color photos throughout. Hardback, no DJ as issued, 480 pages, ring binder.

This is the desirable "pie slice" cover of six segmented color photos in the center of the fire engine red cover.

The volume was a big success throughout the 1970s, reprinted more than 30 times. We’re not Sherlock, but we deduce that this hard-to-miss volume apparently has become THE cookbook that today’s 30-and 40-somethings remember nostalgically as a main resource in mom’s ‘70s kitchen in the days of avocado appliances.

This example is in Very Good Plus condition, clean, bright and showing only light use. No torn away or tearing pages from ring binder.

Condition: Again, a strong VG+. We have two additional copies, similar condition.
