Cooking with a Bulgarian Accent

by chefs Bozidar and Margarita, second printing, 1996. Slick covers; comb binding, 192 pages. The couple's restaurant, Cafe Sofia, now closed, was a jewel in the crown of Winchester, VA through the '90s, providing down home traditional Bulgarian and American dishes that had Phyllis C. Richman, then with the Washington Post, raving. She loved the beef goulash and the palachinka dessert. One blogger, lamenting its passing, even mentioned their slow-cooked, dark, cinnamon-scented carrots. Must have been terrific. VG+.
