The Classic Italian Cook Book (Knopf trade paperback)


by Marcella Hazan, Knopf, 1980 trade paperback printing of the 1973 publication. Pristine. The title says it all: a classic. Hardback with DJ, 483 pages. Original DJ of green, ochre with white print. The late author and cooking teacher's first, and most say, her most important book. When it first appeared, critics raved that she'd done for Italian food what Julia Child and Simon Beck did for French food. Her now-famous pasta sauce with onion, butter and tomato and her "Hunter's Style" chicken come to mind.. Difficult to find in this original cover trade paperback edition.

Condition: lightly used. Covers are pristine and unbent or creased; book has some light staining on some pages. Still, sneaks under the wire as VG+.
