Cooking (Cuisinart) 1978 first year five issue lot

By Barbara Kafka, ed., Cuisinart Publications, 1978, paperback. Very hard to find. These issues, with Kafka as editor, are from the first year of this groundbreaking series, later called The Pleasures of Cooking (of which we have two bound volumes from 1982 and 1983). Certainly one of the most advanced recipe publications ever by a food industry business. Amazingly, there is no shilling nor even "product placement" photos of Cuisinart products! Each issue is about 50 pages. June (issue 4), July(5), August (6), October (8), and December (10). Color presentation photos of dishes throughout. Sold as a lot.

Contributors of fabulous recipes include famous late '70s chefs, cooking teachers and writers such as Seppi Rengli of the Four Seasons, Marcella Hazan, Paula Wolfert, Craig Claiborne, Madhur Jaffrey, Giuliano Buglialli, Barbara Tropp, John Clancy, Naomi Berry, Jane Freiman, Jeanne Lesem, Carl Jerome, Jacques Pepin, Richard J. Hooker and Nika Hazelton.

Plus, there’s a wonderful piece by Wolfert in the December issue about the “New Cooking of Southwest France," a piece that soon grew into a well-respected book by that name, that includes long sections of recipes and photos of dishes by Lucien Vanel, André Vaguin Jean-Louis Palladin. The recipes are usually simple to prepare and alluring.

Again, sold as a lot. VG+.
