Fun With Sea Food (circa 1950)

by Mrs. Virginia Roeder, Baltimore Sunpapers, no publishing date but circa 1950. Increasingly Hard to find. (We reckoned the printing date because of short earlier phone number -- 539 7744 - rather than the subsequent LExington 9-7700).

Pebbly stain-resistant green covers, staple bound, 96 pages. Subtitled "A Cookbook Designed Especially for the Busy Maryland Housewife." Main dishes offered don't use shortcuts, but there is not one casserole nor soup recipe that does not call for a can (or two) or condensed soup! However, Cakes, pies, cookies and other desserts don't get the quickie/shortcut treatment.

Mrs. Roeder, who not only wrote several columns for the Sunpapers, was also a specialist and eventually Superintendent of Home Economics for Baltimore Schools. She also eventually was principal of a Baltimore Junior High School. She also did the cooking for her husband and four children. (She is also the author of the excellent "Fun with Food," also published by the Sunpapers a year or two later. It is also listed on this site). Very minor staining. VG+.
