Moulis Listrac

by Didier Ters, Legrand Publishers, Paris/Longman Distributors, UK first edition, 1990 of the French edition, also 1990. English text. Hardback with DJ, 190 pages. A close look at the wines of this often overlooked region. It's considered to be an important addition to Bernard Ginestet’s book series, a Guide to the Vineyards of France.

From the DJ: “A welcome guide to two little known communes (in Medoc), both producing fine wines, and both typical of the best of French rural life. They may contain no crus classes but, as the author shows, they nevertheless offer many good wines, representing a level of quality that deserves recognition.”

The author points out that the late French president Georges Pompidou, sometimes nicknamed “Oncle Georges” for his down to earth ways, was a fan of the “not overly pretentious” wines from these areas.

Filled with color photos of the great houses, the vineyards, ruins, townspeople, plus aerial photos of the areas, and of course accompanied by descriptions of individual winery productions. As New/As New.
