Alex Lichine's Encyclopedia of Wines & Spirits

by Alex Lichine, Knopf, first edition, 1967. Hardback with DJ, 713 pages. Known here as "The Pope of Wine," the late Lichine was one of the leading figures in international wine circles in the '60s and '70s. He knew the players and their soil, and he had a great writing style. His brand of imported wines are still with us. This important book is very hard to find now, especially with a DJ. Book is near new; DJ has a clipped price, and several small rips at extremities. VG+/VG.
