The Montana Cookbook

Gayle C. Shirley, ed., Falcon Publishing. Out of print. Contributions from home cooks (and a few restaurants). Recipes range from dishes for campfire cookouts to formal dinners, all picked by consulting editor, dietician and former restaurant owner Mary Ellen Holverson. She also picks a "1st prize" entry in every category from Beverages to Desserts. There is a true rarity on p. 336: Jellied Moose Nose. How she managed not to give that a tip of the toque prize, we can't fathom. The contributor writes that "believe it or not it ain't bad," and notes that "Buffalo nose can be used in place of moose nose." What a relief! Hardback with DJ., 352 pages. Pristine condition: As New.
